The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Jr. is ideal for the consumer looking to combat the toughest contaminated air conditions inside of a smaller area. Where its bigger cousin, the Austin Air HealthMate Plus, provides excellent air filtration to an area spanning 1500 square feet; the HealthMate Plus Jr. is capable of cleaning an area covering 700 square feet. The HealthMate Plus Jr. features a compact design that grants users the ability to transport it more easily, though it does not come installed with rollers like the standard model. The HealthMate Plus Jr. is well suited for cleaning areas with above average air toxicity and less space, such as new apartments, garages, or laboratories. Like the standard model, it has the greatest capacity for air filtration out of the entire Austin Air product line; filtering volatile organic compounds (VOCs), viruses, and bacteria.

The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Jr. excels at filtering even the most heavily chemically tainted air by utilizing its 4 stage filtration system. After air is drawn in through 360 degrees of steel ventilation on the sides of the unit it passes through the large particle pre-filter which eliminates any hair, dust, or dander present. In stage two of the process, a medium particle filter will further sift the air free of pollen, mold, or spores. The third stage is critical to the Plus model process in that the filter contains 7 pounds of potassium iodide impregnated carbon and zeolite. This allows the HealthMate Plus Jr. to effectively remove harmful chemicals and VOCs, such as formaldehyde or benzene, from the air along with the odors they cause. In the fourth and final stage, the air is moved through 30 square feet of certified HEPA filtration material which cleans the air of 99.97% of particles larger than 0.3 microns in diameter.
